Opportunistic routing based on partial CSI in MIMO random ad-hoc networks

Abstract In this paper we consider opportunistic routing in multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) random wireless ad-hoc networks (WANETs). Our analysis uses a proper model of the physical layer together with an abstraction higher communication layers. We assume that nodes are distributed according to Poisson point process and scheme opportunistically selects next relay number spatially multiplexed data streams. The decisions based on geographic locations, channel gains neighbor nodes, statistical characterization all other nodes. Unlike single antenna case, optimal cannot be explicitly expressed. Hence, propose smart-routing for MIMO adapts streams per user conditions. numerical results demonstrate outperforms previously published schemes scenario. findings highlight importance state information efficient routing, need adaptive selection at each transmitter.
